TMXMNYMX. i Melbourne, November 28. j In the turf slander ease, Adkins v. J Wren, the court held that the ringingin had been proved. The pony Ladylike was really Truelove. Judgment was given for defendant in regard to ) the slander, but he had exceeded hLs powers by converting the pony to his own purposes, and detaining her. Plaintill was awarded £f> on the conversion claim, and £45 for the detention of the pony, to be reduced to Is'provided that the pony was delivered within three days. THE DREDGE MAXCIIKSTEn. ( Sydney, November 28. J Jn the Assembly, Mr. Cann stated that the Harbor Trust was giving £SO j to the relatives of each member of the crew of the dredge Manchester, and an J additional £lO to every child under ] fourteen. Some of the relatives are in England, Germany, France and Switzerland. The Trust is exerting its best efforts to trace the relatives.
