THE AURORA.

RETURNING TO liOBART. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. Hobart, November 28. A wireless message says that the [Aurora has left the Macqnarries, and is due here on December lb. She afterwards returns to bring back the expedition. An important discovery was made during the voyage down, tending to confirm the theory that formerly there was land connection between Tasmania and Antarctica. When ' two hundred miles south, soundings showed a roeky ridge at a depth of 700 fathoms, extending almost due north arid south. The present charts show 1500 to 2000 fathoms in this area. Possibly Captain Diedrichsen, the Norwegian whale at present in New Zealand, will superintend the Aurora's whaling operations.
