]\ T DIVORCE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Tuesday. A decree nisi was , granted in the divorce suit Constanza Aurelia Underwood v. Alexander Underwood, on the ground of desertion. SOUTHLAND SESSIONS. Invercargill, Tuesday. The Supreme Court sessions were opened by Justice Sir Joshua Williams, who congratulated the jury on the* lightness of the calendar, there being only three cases. A girl, Josephine Kennelly, was charged with having assaulted James Potts with a hatpin, which penetrated a lung. Potts, with others, passed some girls in the street, when a remark was made, and the girl struck Potts, who has been unable to work since he was wounded in February. Accused was found guilty with a strong recommendation to mercy. His Honor imposed a fine of £5, and allowed the woman two months in which to pay the amount. Erank Hughes was found not guilty on 'four charges of breaking and entering, 'the jury expressing the opinion that there was not sufficient evidence to convict.
