Rear-Admiral King-Hall has been appointed to the command of the Cape station.
Vice-Admiral Sir G. May succeeds Admiral Sir Wm. May as commander-in-chief at Plvmouth. "
Vice-Admiral Sir H. Jackson succeeds Rear-Admiral Ironbridge as private secretary to the First Lord of the Admiralty. Some surprise is expressed at the appointment of a rear-admiral to the China station, which is interpreted to indicate that the Eastern fleet will be placed un'der the supreme command of the Admiral of the Australian squadron.
