| AMERICANS FOR NEW ZEALAND. By Telegraph —I'i'ess Association. Wellington, Saturday. Mr. Talbot, secretary of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, has linen advised by cable that, Mr. Unmack, the well-known athletic writer of San Francisco, is prepared to bring a team of athletes to New Zealand, including Horine, Smithson. McOlure, and Courtcnay, who will compete at all the big centres, and probably at Wanganui, Timaru and Masterton. The expenses will mn into over £3OO. Later. With regard to the American athletic team. Mr. Unmack will be manager. Horn, e and Richards are high jumpers. The former holds the world's record, and is a man it is wished to secure in preference to Richards, who is not quite so -rood. Forrest-Smithson holds the world » record for hurdles. McClure s best distance is over half-a-niile. but he is a crood quarter-mile man also. The team, therefore, is of the highest class.
