DEATH OP A MAORI WOMAN. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dannevirkc, Wednesday. The death lias taken place at the pah at Tahoraite of a Maori woman, a?cd 120 years. Her name was Atenate. Wharelciri. In troublous times, her husband. Hohepa Paewai, was a friendly chief, and with the deceased did much to quell the warlike, spirit of the tribe. Most of the Tahoraile Block was owned by deceased and her descendant?. A tangi will be hc4d.
