WAIHI AND RELIGION.
A REPORT CONTRADICTED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Speaking at the Presbyterian Assembly. Rev. White, of Waihi. said there was a. far stronger connection between the Church and Labor than was apparently supposed. Tt had been said by some members of the Anglican Synod that at Waihi only about OS families attended church, but it was a fact that over that number attended the Presbyterian Church alone. As far as he could see it was the capitalist rather than the worker who kept out of the Church. They ought to be very careful what they said on this important question. In his opinion it was largely a persona! question of a minister's influence.
