A madman, bearing dynamite sufficient to destroy a hundred buildings, held up the police station for an hour. Hundreds of police and the occupants of adjoining houses dashed for safety. Detective Hosick finally struck the maniac unconscious, and having found that he had hidden bombs which were about to explode, dashed into the street with them'and stamped out the fuses. The spectators were paralysed with fright at the detective's action.
