His relatives have informed the police that Woodenson is the name undei< wlich Samuel Keys, a lab Her at Surrey Hills, visited New Zealand in order to receive £3OO bequeathed by his father. Keys brought the money in a bank draft from Dunedin. The police state that there is no reason to suspect foul play, but the disappearance under the circumstances is mysterious. A cablegram from Sydney on November 13 says:—A steerage passenger who joined the Moeraki at Wellington is stated to have leapt overboard on Sunday. His name is believed to have been W. Woodenson. It is stated that a Greek passenger, not speaking English, excitedly drew a deck hand's attention to something in the water astern. He was thought to mean that some baggage was overboard, but an hour later an interpreter discovered that the Greek declared that he had seen a passenger climb on to the rail and jump overboard.
