genera:. rnOCEEDINGS. j By Telegraph— Press Association. Wellington, Monday. The Presbyterian Assembly to-day resumed discussion on the home mission department. The duties of a home missionary were defined, the convener (Dr. Gibb) stating that a new and better day had dawned in home mission enterprise. Regarding Knox College extension, the hope was expressed that with the generosity of friends of the church, of whom Mr. John Ross had given £7OOO, the new buildings would be opened free of debt. With the present extension complete there would be accommodation for over eighty students in residence. In recognition of the services of Dr. Andrew Cameron, it was decided to 1 have a portrait of him painted. Wellington, Last Night. The Presbyterian General Assembly this afternoon decided to establish a ladies' college in Tfawke's Bay. An offer of four acres of land by Mr. F. Mason Chambers to enlarge the site for the college, already eight acres in extent, was accepted; also an offer of service as principal made by Miss Fraser, M.A., for many years principal of the Waitnki and Wanganui Girls' colleges. Plans were approved for a building to cost, with furnishings, about £IO,OOO.
