THE NEWCASTLE MINERS. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, November 17. A meeting of members of three miners' lodges in the Newcastle district discussed the intolerable position arising out of the frequent stoppage at the collieries. It was resolved to continue work under all circumstances until any dispute was referred to the executive and joint committee. Twenty-five lodges have now resolved similarly. THE GLEBE ISLAND STRIKE. Sydney, November 17. The mutton slaughtermen at Glebe Island are still out. Two hundred men are affected. Two companies are working. The trouble is being confined to the Carcase Butchers' Association members. Suburban nhops are still in full working order, and the price of meat ,is unchanged.
