A RAILWAY ACCIDENT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. At the inquest on Chas. Boyle, 6G years old, who was found dead on the , ailway line on November 11, a verdict was reI turned that death was due to shock from injuries to the skull, probably caused by contact with the railway engine whilst deceased was walking on the line towards Waipara. SUICIDE BY HANGING. Dunedin, Last Night. Agnes Ibbotson, 24 years of age, and wife of Arthur Ibbotson, Hope street, North-East Valley, was found, hanging by a rope from a hook in the scullery, at 11 o'clock this morning. Her husband left at 9.55 to attend a prayer meeting, returning home at the hour'stated. Deceased had a child abu'.i; three weeks ago, and lost it, and had li.h m depressed ever since. SULPHURIC ACID l'OiSOXlN'c. Wellington, Last Night. An inquest was held on Saturday into' the death of Valentine Alfred Pyne, who was found at Lyall Bay on Thursday, suffering from the effect's of poison and wounds in *,he neck, apparently selfinflicted, and who died on Friday. Deceased had told two doctors who wen sent for that he had taken nitric acid, and that he had inflicted the wounds himself, but apparently sulphuric acid had been used. Deceased's brother-in-law stated that Pyne was much interested in wireless telegraphy, and his actions lately had been strange. A verdict was returned that death was due to shock following on peritonitis, due to swallowing a fluid, probably sulphuric acid.
