PEOPLE'S DAY. By Telegraph—Press Association. ! ' Wanganui, Thursday.) There is is fine weather for People'? Day at the Agricultural Show, which ia attended by a huge crowd. " > - In the horse clashes there was keen competition for the thoroughbred championship, which was awarded to Mr. Geo, Chamberlain's (Wanganui) Zimmerman, the second place being filled by Mr. H. E.. Good's (Wanganui) Maniapoto. Mr. E. Short (Feilding) swept the ■ board in draughts, in which section the results are as follows: Entire, four years and over, E. Short's Royal Treasure 1, G. Chamberlain's (Wanganui) General French 2. Entire, three years, Short's Revalenta 1, Mrs. J. D, Ormond's (Hawke's Bay) Ardnaeraig 2. In the three utility draught classes, Mr. Short also filled the first places, second honors being divided between Rhodes Bros, and the Wanganui Borough Council. Mr. Short also carried off the draught entire championship and reserve championship with Revalenta and Royal Treasurer respectively. Mrs. ,T. D. Ormond's Lady Glen won the championship for draught mares, Mr. Short's Lassie Logan winning the reserve championship in the same class.
Wanganui, Last Night. The Wanganui Agricultural Society's Show concluded to-day. The weather was fine, and about twelve thousand people were present. The Show has been in every way a record success. The draught champion shield for entires was won by Mr. Ernest Short's Revelenta; the shield for mares was won by M*Si Ormond's Lady Glen; the leaping competition was won by Mr. H. P. Taylor's Consul, Charles Clark's Umuroa being second and Mr. N. M. Patterson's Haere third.
