AUSTRALIAN POLITICS.
A SENSITIVE MEMBER. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 13, 9.30 p.m. Sydney, November 13. While the Assembly was discussing the Estimates, Mr. Wood protested against the Treasury paying back his share of the increased salary members had recently voted themselves. He characterised their action as unwarrantable and an impertinence, being an attempt to place him in a false position by making him accept the increase against which he had voted. He returned the first instalment, and intimated that he would not draw the money in future.
