c <— I DANNEVIRKE RESOLUTIONS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dannevirke, Tuesday. J The Dannevirke Chamber of Commerce last evening passed a resolution \ approving the provision in the Native .' Lands Laws Act, 1912, of a clause deal--1 ing with the investment in trust of twoI thirds of the money realised by the GoJ vernment from the' sale of Native lands j handed over to them for disposal, and •) urging that the provision be extended • to all lands sold by the Natives, either > to Europeans or to the Government. The , Chamber also discussed the position re- . garding the Tiratu Native Block, over which a proclamation now exists, expirI ing in 18 months. A resolution was pas- -, sed informing the Minister of Native t ) Lands tliat a strong report was current , J that speculators were dealing with the ; block with the view of purchase after tho , proclamation had expired, and askin" ; j wihat steps' would be taken by the Go' ; vernment to acquire the land.
