FINANCIAL STRINGENCY. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, November 11. Mr. Griffith, in a speech, denying the charges against the Government of extravagance, said that when the price of money slackened he would be more extravagant than ever. Mr. Cann, the Treasurer, speaking at a church function, denied that he tried to raise a loan in Paris. Replying to statements that he was putting, the screw on as regards public works, hesaid that when the present monetary scare in the Old Land cleared away, things would become normal. Australia's credit and prospeets were as good as ever.
