PETROLEUM.
OPERATIONS AT MOTUROA. Good progress is being made in connection with the refinery buildings. The concrete foundations are in place for the paraffin shed, the new store is completed, and excavations are in hand for the large iron tanks which will be required for storage purposes. The-blacksmith's shop and storeroom are being erected alongside of the new one hundred and ten feet rotary derrick, which is now almost ready "to receive the plant when it arrives. Work will ho commenced this week with the erection of the engine and boiler house. Additional drillers have come to hand at Bell Block, and arrangements are being made to work day and night at the bores on this property. In future visitors'to the works at Moturoa will be restricted to Thursday afternoons from 2 to 4.30 p.m. This has been rendered necessary on account of the large number of persons visitin" the works. °
