NEW SOUTH WALES PARLIAMENT. A SPLIT IX THE CAMP. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, November 8. The morning papers announce a split in the Labor camp. The trouble will result in the early retirement of Mr. Beeby, Minister for Public Works. The principal reasons are his denunciation of the referendum and the offence given to the unions by his administration of the industrial law, including his recent refusal of the Labor Council's request to eliminate the penal clauses in the Industrial Arbitration Act and guarantee absolute preference to unionists. The council intimated to Mr. Beeby that, should be obtain the labor nomination at the next election, the central executive would not endorse the nomination, t run i' GLEBE STRIKE SETTLED. * Received 8. 9.10 p.m. Sydney, November 8. The butchers at Glebe Island have resumed work on conditions practically the same as contained in the old award, with the exception that they receive an extra shilling per hundred for sheep killed and dressed. INCREASE WANTED IN LANCASHIRE Received 8, 11 p.m. London, November 8. Thirty-five thousand workers in the bleaching, scouring and dyeing trades in Lancashire and Yorkshire* have asked for an increase to sevenpence an hour for adults, with a proportionate increase for bovs.
