WELLINGTON SESSIONS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Thursday. ■ln the Supreme Court to-day the following prisoners were sentenced: Fred. K. White, for theft, four months' imprisonment; G. Maxwell, forgery and uttering, admitted to probation and ordered to pay the costs of the prosecution; fi. W. Jacobs, for failing to keep proper books for three years prior to bankruptcy, two months' imprisonment without hard labor. NELSON SESSIONS. Nelson, Thursday. . In the Supreme Court, Laney claimed £SOO from Alex. Brown for unlawful arrest and imprisonment. The judge held that plaintiff had failed to prove what was the reasonable and probable cause. Judgment was given for defendant with costs.
