CYCLING.
ROAD RACE. Under the auspices of the I-rivers Cycle Club a race was held yesterday afternoon from New Plymouth to Inglewood and back. There were twelve starters, several of whom turned back on account of the strong headwind. Results:—L. Nippert {l2mm), Ihr olmin, 1; 0. Rowlands (scr), lhr 40min, 2 and fastest time; A. White (scr), lhr 48min, 3. The record for the distance is lhr 37M>min. This was put up on a calm day. The position of the riders for the Roebuck aggregate trophy is:—V. Gunson 5 points, W .Gunson 4, A. May 3, L. E. Smith 3, L. Nippert 3, Beauchamp 3, 0. Rowlands 2, J. Jury 2, J. Jones 2, H Lobb 2, D. Roebuck 1, A. White 1, R. Tapp 1, D. James 1.
