At the National Union of the Suffrage Societies' Demonstration at the Albert Hall, Lord Haldane's letter was read wherein he expressed the conviction that nothing would keep back the cause of the women's suffrage. The recent events were irrevalent to the merits of the controversy. He hoped the House of Commons had not underrated the folly of a few fanatics. \ Sir Edward 'Grey telegraphed his sympathies. WINDOW-SMASHING CAMPAIGN. Received 6, 9.30 p.m. London, November (i The Suffragettes wrecked the windows of in Oxford and Bond streets, two Jarrests have been made. As a protest against the defeat of Mr. Philip Snowden's amendment, the Suffragettes smashed the windows of the Insurance Commissioner's office. Numerous arrests have been effected.
