NAMING OF STREETS.

To the Editor. Dear Sir. —I notice in your columns that the Borough Council are proposing to re-name some of our streets. Why, I don't know. The names of certain politicians are mentioned. Let us protest against this sort of thing. Cannot any Maori names or words be obtained? They would be preferable to those of King Dick or Promising John, at anv rate. —I am, etc., OLD RESIDENT.
