THE EGMONT COUNTY COUNCIL CRUSHER.

To the Editor.

Sir,—T fail to see where my statements about the Egmont crusher were misleading. lam not in the habit of saving things that are not true. Now, "the greatest novice in the procedure of business at meetings knows that to minute all the talk and the putting of motions and amendments would take the secretary a very long time. I still say that it was through Cr Burgess'* vote we. did not have the crusher and also ' this year's contracts let at last meeting l lt could not have been done before. For financial reasons I moved that the-crush-er start and contracts he let in the northern end fust. Did Cr Burgess vote against it? I say he did. Is the crusher likely to he at the north end in the time Cr Burgess stated, three .weeks? It will not he there much sooner than three months, so he must have been very clever to block my motion, .but I am so dense that. 1 really cannot see where it comes in. As for my remark, "What rot," Cr Burgess nmy not like it, hut I sav his first letter on this matter was D— fot I am, etc., PAUL WILLCOX.
