TARATA ZIG-ZAG.
To the Editor. Sir I quite agree with "ilutiwai" in Monday's Daily News "that there should be a. by-law regulating the speed of motor cars and motor cycles over tlie Zig-zag." and I also cannot see why they should not be prohibited to cross for a certain hour during the day. Although you are not a leading citizen ''llutiwa?," shake yourself up, and take a lead in the matter of levelling this hill. I would rather it be tunnelled, as the levelling would spoil its seenic beauty, which, no doubt in time when Tarata's grand climate ami fertility is known to the world, would be a breathing space for its teeming population! I'll do just as yourself -'llutiwai,' I'll help; .but'take my advice not to leave your N.D.P. anywhere about the Zig-zag.'—l am, etc., A SETTLER.
