Jack Johnson narrowly esiapea" lynching at the hands of an infuriated mob, Wnen it was known he was charged with abducting a white girl. He is now closely guarded by the police. A race war is feared in consequence of the ill-feeling generated by his arrest. REPUDIATED BY HIS RACE. Received 22, 9.50 p.m. New York, October 22. The Rev. T. Booker Washington, principal of the Tuskegee Normal and Industrial Institute for colored students, speaking at Washington, asked all negroes to repudiate Jack Johnson in consequence of his conduct.
