SOUTH TARANAKI ASSOCIATION, j The annual meeting of the South Taranaki Cricket Association iwas held at Eltham on Friday evening, delegates be-1 ing present from Eltham, Okaiawa and' Normanby. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £ls 4s 2d, an increase of fl. Officers were elected as follows:—President, Mr. B, McCarthy (Hawera); vicepresidents, Messrs. G. W. Tayler (Eltham), A. Lee (Okaiawa), and W. Moore (Normanby)'; secretary and treasurer, Mr. J. 0. Lording; general committee, Mr. J. Halpin, to represent Eltham and Okaiawa, and Mr. Chalmers, Hawera; ! delegato to New Zealand Crkket Coun«il, Mr. J. B. Beckett. After gome discussion it was resolved to support the New Zealand Cricket Council re the Ha>wke Cup conditions, and it was also decided to enter a 'team for the competition. Shield fixtures will commence on November 14th and 15th. It was resolved to inform the Manaia and Stratford clubs that if their fees are not paid by let November they will be excluded from the fixtures.
Messrs. McCarthy, Dunlop and Penny were apointed a selection committee. Mr. Hoperoft gave notice to move that a district scheme be inaugurated for next season.
An appreciation of the secretary's services Was placed on the minutes, and after the usual votes of fchanki tha meeting terminated.
