WESTRALIAN BUDGET. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Perth, October 18. The Budget shows a revenue of :£3.9(i6.073 and an expenditure of £4.101,082, leaving a deficit of £121,110, the year having been begun with a surplus" of £13,000. The estimated revenue for the current year is £4.589,792, and the expenditure I £4,755,615. THE MEAGHER BILL Sydney, October 18. The Council rejected the second reading of the Bill to readmit Mr. Meagher as a solicitor, by 28 votes to 14. THE MEAGHER BILL. Received 18, 10.13 p.m. i Sydney, October 18. Prior to the rejection of the Meagher Bill the Law Institute presented a petition to the Council protesting against Meagher's readmission, claiming that it was unprecedented. THE EARLY CLOSING BILL. ANOTHER ROW WITH THE SPEAKER. Received 18, 10.15 p.m. Sydney, October 18. The Assembly, after an all-night sitting on the Early Closing Bill, passed it through committeo with several amendments in opposition to the shortening of the hours in certain trades, which were carried against the Government. One leaves fruit, vegetable and confectionery shops open till eleven. Boot repairers, poulterers, hairdressers, tobacconists and chemists' hours,are lengthened beyond the Government proposals. Mr Lonsdale came into conflict with the Deputy-Speaker, and was ejected.
