EMPIRE. PICTURES. There will be a complete change of programme shown at the matinee this afternoon, including a great "star" picture, 3000 ft in. length, "Rose Kate" or "A Race for Life." The Lubin Company are also represented -with another of their popular railway dramas "From Fireman to Engineer" and the Vitagraph Company with a Maurice Costello drama "Nemesis," a story at once thrilling and impressive, imparting a lesson that sinks deep into every fibre of appreciation and tihe inmost recesses of the soul. An interesting industrial film shows the making of lead pencils, and a fine series of views are shjwn of the 1932 Henley Regatta.

THEATRE ROYAL PICTURES "The God of the Sun," the beautiful and mysterious picture that has captivated local picture lovers the past two nights will be shown again at the matinee this afternoon and for the very last occasion at the evening pcrformance.This unique subject was fully reviewed in yesterday's issue xnd is well worth going a considerable distance to see. Other pictures of more than ordinary merit aro also included in this programme, which ranks as an exceptionally brilliant tribute to the cinem itographer's art. Parents are reminded of the matinee commencing at 2.30 this afternoon.

PLIMMER-DENNISTON COMPANY. On Wednesday, October 30, the Plim-mer-Denniston Dramatic Company will play for one night in New Plymouth, producing "Nobody's Daughter," a play wfliich the London Times described as "Hie best of the season in London," whilst the Sydney Herald has characterised it as the "most compelling play produced in Australasia during the last decade." The cast includes. Mr. Harry Plimmer, Mr. George Titheradge, Mrs. Robert Broiigh, Miss Beatrice Day, and Miss Lizette Parkes, all of whom are well and favourably known in New Zealand.
