MOKAU ENQUIRY.
FURTHER EVIDENCE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Mokau enquiry was' continued today. Mr. Joshua Jones in reply to Mr. Mc'Callum reiterated that the StoutPalmer report was prejudiced. He declared that Sir R. Stout should have sought the truth. Wihen Mr. McCallumsaid that he assumed the rentals had not been paid Jones protested that he was on oath and asked for the protection of the Chairman, who said that the petitioner's statement must be accepted. Mr. J one* said that he <had no means outisde the Mokau property. When in England he worked as a laborer.
The enquiry was not concluded when the committee adjourned.
