J. A. TUTHILL'S BANKRUPTCY.
In our report of the bankruptcy of J- A. Tuthill in iur issue of Wednesday last, we reported Mr. Medley, the Official Assignee, as stating that "they (meaning Mr. Weston and his client) agreed to pay this, but the next morning they broke their word anil refused." We are instructed by Mr. Medley to say that he was in error in making the statement. In any ease, Mr. Weston's client (Mr. Emeny) did not see Mr. Medley in connection with the matter at all. and Mr. Weston's agreement to pay the money under protest was made to Mr. Medley, subject to the assent of another party being obtained, and who subsequently refused to give such consent. Mr. Medley did not wish in any way to reflect on Mr. Weston's reputation as a professional gentleman. We are glad of the opportunity of publishing this explanation and removing any suggest!;:: reflecting on the professional character of Mr. C. H. Weston, which deservedly stands high in the community. We believe Mr. Medley honestly misunderstood the position at time he made the statement, which hs~ now just as honestly withdraws,
