WATERSIDE WORKERS.

DECISION OF INDUSTRIAL COURT. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright, Sydney, October 11.

The Industrial Court gave judgment in the dispute between Ihe waterside workers and the North Coast Steamship Company as to whether the company had power to employ seamen in conjunction with wharf laborers in the holds of vessels. The Court finds that members of the union, in virtue of the preference, because of the award, had the first call on all inter-State coastal vessels, but if the union failed to provide sufficient labor the employers were entitled to employ constant 'hands or non-union labor. The Court calls upon the union to withdraw its refusal to work cargo for the company, failing which others must be allowed to do it.
