A BUSH FATALITY . By Telegraph—Press Association. Tailupe, Wednesday. Evidence at the inquest on the bodice of Cornelius Coad, sometimes called Reardon, and Albert Allen, who were kiik'd at llihitahi yesterday, showed that -i falling rinra lodged in a fork of anoth-r rimu, which split down. While the felted tree was being pulled down by the hauler the halves of the split tree fell in different direction*, and. striking Allen and Coad, pinned them to the "round by a limb. Roth were killed 'kisuiuily and'the bodies badly mutilated. Allen' leaves d widow and one «hild. Coad's relatives reside in Sydney. The verdict was acci-1 dental death, with no blame attachable to anyone. The bush foreman stated it was the practice to haul away trees that were stuck up, and he had never known! a tree split before.
BURNT TO DEATH. Auckland, Last Night. The, constable at Otorohanga telegraphed to headquarters at Auckland that at about noon yesterday an old age pensioner named John Warren, a white man, who lived with the Maoris, was burnt to death in a raupo whare at Otcwa. Particulars are not yet available.
