Kirby, the Leander's captain at Stockholm, referring to the Olympic conditions, says that the point of Middleton's complaint is that the. Australians now grumble at an agreement to which they were parties. Other nations had to, be content with the result of the draw. It was an exaggeration to say that the Leanders had not congratulated the Australians on their Henley win. There may not have been spontaneous cheers when they saw the Australians first past the post, but afterwards they were congratulated.
