MILITARY TRAINING, By Telegraph—Press Association. Pahiatua, Tuesday. The Prime Minister, in acknowledging the receipt of the resolution of the Pahiatua Honorary Territorial Association, drawing the Government's attention to letters on the subject of compulsory military training, which appeared in the Manchester Guardian anil Daily News, states that he will be pleased to confer with his colleague, the Minister, of Defence, on the subject. A meeting of ladies, convened bv the Mayoress in response to Mrs. Godley's appeal, was held yesterday afternoon to consider a proposal to raise funds to provide ladies' prizes to bo shot for by senior cadets. The project was taken up enthusiastically, and it was decided to canvass the town.
