PIG CAUSES TRAGEDY.
FOUR CHILDREN BURNED TO/BEATH' A pig has been responsible for four. Irish children—two boys and tw.o girls —being burned to death. The tragedy occurred near Foxford, County Mayo. The parents of the children, named Brogan, Went out to the neighboring hog to save the turf, leaving the youngsters at home. '' The children went into the house of their next-door neighbor, which was occupied by an old woman, and it is stated that while there a pig entered the house and "upset a jar of paraffin oil. The children tried to destroy the traces of the oil by setting it alight, and in this manner the clothes of one of the children got in contact with the flames. The screams of the children attracted the attention of the old woman, who went to iheir rescue, and her clothes catching fire .she jumped through a window of the house. On the arrival of a doctor all.the children were dead. The old woman of the house was badly burned, and lies in a critical condition in Ballina Infirmary. Tie eldest victim was thirteen years »f age, and the youngest eighteen months old.
