CRICKET.

OLDEST CLUB IN THE DOMINION. Mr. T. L. Binney, lion, secretary of the Albion C.C., Dunedin, writes:—"The Albion Cricket Club are about to celebrate their jubilee, having seen 50 years' continuous service. I should be obliged if you would inform me how many clubs there are in Australia with a like record."

An exchange replies that in Sydney the only clubs over 50 years in existence are the University, the King's School and the Sydney Grammar School. The other old clubs of note, such as Albert and Warwick, established over 50 years ago. died out with the coming of district cricket. There were still earlier clubs, such as the Australian Garrison, etc., but these dropped away many years ago. The Albury Club-was established in 1554, but it is not certain whether it has had a continuous' existence. There are several clubs in Melbourne over 50 years established, notably the Melbourne C.C., East Melbourne C'.C. St. Kilda, Scotch College, Melbourne C.E.G.S., and it is understood that the Fitzroy Club has been thriving fifty years. The Bendigo United Club has been established 51 years. Some of the Tasmanian clubs are very old, but the coming of district cricket," as in Sydney, led' to their disbanding. The Derwent Club was established in 1835,. Break o' Day 1802, and Lamiceston before 1840.
