ENTERTAINMENTS.

EMPIRE PICTURE PALACE. MATINEE TO-DAY. A complete change of programme will be shown at the matinee this afternoon and again to-night, and it is a change of extraordinary brilliancy, numbering four of the greatest "star" attractions ever imported into the Dominion. Prominent on the new list is a great Vitagraph sensation, "With Frank Coffin in his hydroplane above New York." This iilm, depicting the thrilling nights which Mr. Frank Coffin has made in his hydroplane (a machine equally effective 'on water or in the air) over the city of New York, is without doubt the most sensational yet released. The views of the evolutions of the machine itself, interesting though they are, fall into insignificance before those that follow, in which the operator has accompanied Mr. Coffin in his flight over New York, all the main features of which are visible in a series of bird's-eye views. In these days everybody is keenly interested in the details of airmanship, and this picture gives one all the sensations of a rapid flight through the air, with the additional sensation of an interesting water trip. The long pictures are an exceptionally entertaining selection, including "The Indian Mail Robbery," a detective story full of thrills, ieatu'rinir the prince of "tecs.," Nat Pinkcrfon. A beautifully enacted railway drama by Lubin, "A Railroad Engineer," that also contains a full measure of thrilling situations, and the greatest Selig production to date, "The Luve of an Island Maid." Photographed in one of the most picturesque islands of the Pacific, it is a picture that could be shown for' its scenic beauties alone, yet it contains more thrills to the square inch than many a sensational melodrama. Tnc supporting pictures are all good subjects and are sure to prove popular.
