ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
CIRCULAR SAW ACCIDENT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Timaru, Yesterday. R. Waterhouse, a cabinetmaker employee, had his right arm nearly cut off below the elbow by a circular saw. He had been in the habit of putting his hand over a 10-inch saw guide, and did the same with a new 14-inch saw. BoTTi bones were cut through. DEATH OF A TRAINER. Feilding, Yesterday. William Francis Cahill, a single man, employed as head of W. Young's racing stable here, was found dead in bud this morning from heart failure. He had been here only a few weeks. It is believed he came from Auckland. KILLED AT SEA. Dunedin, Last Night. An able seaman named Robert Jasper, employed ,on the Corinthic, was killed while the vessel was coming up the harbor to-day. Deceased was getting the winch ready for working cargo, when a boom, which had just been hoisted, fell on him, crushing his chest in and killing him instantly. Deceased was married, and his wife and five children live in London. He was a native of Jamaica, and was about 45 years old.
A SUICIDE. Dunedin, Last Night. John McClue, aged 42 years, committed suicide at Soutli Dunedin to-night by cutting his throat with a razor. No further particulars are available. A JOCKEY'S DEATH. Christehurch, Last Night. Rettcr, the jockey who was injured early in June while schooling the horse Pa.ralell, Jay in the hospital unconscious till July 4, when he was trepanned and recovered consciousness gradually. During the last few weeks he was able to speak. The case was an unusually long one, and this afternoon he died.
