The following resolutions were carried:—That this Federation supports the request of the Furniture Workers' Association re. regulation for employment of Chinese in furniture factories. That the Government lie urged to amend the "Wages Protection and Coulraetors' Lien Act, 1110S, in the direction of making it compulsory for the suli-eoiilracfor. as well as the contractor, to enforce the provisions in clause GO. a!>o to point, out that the Act is inoperative so far as clause (10 is concerned. That this conference of the New Zealand Employer*' Federation re- . commend to the Government for its serious consideration the oHYr of the Flhellmrga or any other syndicate to develop tlie iron htdusfrv of the Dominion. That the Shops and Unices Ael. IiHIS, be amended by re-inserting the Words deleted by the IDM Ameiidniclil Act of clause ,'!, also that clause 4 of* section 6 lie re-inserted.
