President Taft, in an authorised interview, repeated that he would certainly be re-elected President. The Regular Republicans were certain to carry the east and were holding sufficient of the middle States to ensure victory. The Democratic strength had failed to materialise. If the Republicans won, their first duty would be to revise the tariffs.
