A great deal of evidence has been taken, anil the case is now in the fifth day. There have also been night sittings. Plaintiffs, in their evidence, go to show that the charges were too high, while the defence sets up that the charges were justified by the dilliculties, risks and expenses entailed. The evidence in the Star of Canada claim was concluded this evening. Mr. .lui-dice Chapman reserved his decision. Sir John Findlay (solicitor for the plaintin's) intimated that legal argument would be heard in Wellington.
