THE NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIP. WON BY B. B. WOOD. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last ( Night. The New Zealand golf tournament came to a conclusion yesterday ill splendid weather, the links being in splendid .condition. The last two rounds of the amateur championship were played, B. B. Wood, of Christchurch, defeating H. Wright, of Christchurch, by 6 up and 5 to play. The winner displayed better all-round form, Wright being weak ,on the greens. At the eighteenth hole, ill the first round, good work was done by boti, and it looked like a half in bogey 5, but Wright was laid half-stymie, and the dip of the ground being against him he lost by (i to 5. He was thus 3 down at the end of this round, when the scores stood, Wood, out 39, in 37; Wright, out 40, in 41. In the second round, Wright's chances were hopeless at the twelfth hole, Wood winning at the fourteenth by 5 to G, and the match by 6 up and 5 to play. At the invitation of Sir Joseph Ward, president of the Wellington Golf Club) Lord Islington presented the prizes.

THE INVERCARGILL CHAMPIONSHIP. ' ' H Invereargill, Last Night. The Invereargill Golf Club's championship was won to-day by G. Cuthbertson, who defeated E. Russell over 30 holes by 3 up and 2 to play.
