THE DEFENCE ACT.
GROSS MISREPRESENTATION. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 22, 5.5 p.m. London, September 21. The Manchester Guardian and ■ Daily News arc assisting the Peace Society in an elaborate campaign against the Defence Acts of Australia and New Zealand. Letters describe failures to attend drill and the, prosecutions of defaulters. A correspondent "of" the Vriiar'diarr states that the whole story of the New Zealand Act is a squalid record, and urges the Liberals of England to take up the cause of the unfortunate children, who, being voteless, are subjected to outrageous tvranny.
