THE BUTTER MARKET. Messrs. E. Griffiths & Co. are in receipt of the following market report from their London prinoienls, Messrs. Mills & Sparrow, dated August 9:— The weather generally during the past week has not been at. all pleasant, very heavy rains falling, nnd at the same time low temperatures have ruled in most parts of England, ibe country will suffer unless wc have a spell qf warmer weather. Danish. -No rhiegc. has been made in the quotation, hi)', ih" butter is clearing. Siberian.- -Similar conditions prevail as rc-poried last week: t.li» finest, is clearing, but the secondary is .hanging fire, and. on these, latter grades lower prices are being taken. Irish, The holidays intervening, orders at the commencement of the week were fcv,\ and quotations are generally on the easier side, but everything points to their hardening again in the near future. French.—There is no change up to the time of writing, but; on finest rolls an advance is "xpecled. Australian. -The butter ex s.s. Wiltshire is now cominv to hand, and some of the besi pareeh are being cleared promptly. There are, however, quite a few of secondary character, and we fear these will have to go into store. Cheese.—There has been a. brisk trade for colored, and prices have 'hardened. Generally, the trade, is good, and prices are firm.
