HUNT CLUB'S MEETING. Very good entries have been received for the North Taranaki Hunt Club's annual race meeting on the New Plymouth Racecourse to-morrow afternoon. The meeting promises to he the most successful yet held under the auspices of the club, and the public may rely upon a good afternoon's sport. Complete arrangements have been made with regard to excursion fares and delayed trains, enabling country patrons within a big radius to attend the meeting and return home the same day. A programme of music will be played by the Garrison Band, and luncheon, afternoon tea nnd refreshments will be available. Otaraoa's weight in the Hunters' Haniicap is 12.3, not 12.7 as previously stated. TARANAKI METROPOLITAN COMMITTEE. The usual meeting of the Taranaki Metropolitan Committee was held last night, when there were present: Messrs. Lepper (chairman), R. H. Nolan, L. A. Nolan, E. Sole, Standish, Clianey, Elliott, Blundell, Hempton and Orbell. A trainer's license was granted to A. Gilbert. and jockeys' licenses to J. Eva and J. Johnson. TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB. The committee of the Taranaki Jockey Club met immediately aterwards, the same members being present. A considerable quantity of correspon-1 dence was dealt with, and accounts amounting to £57 15s lid were passed for payment. Tt was decided to sell the club's I draught horse. , It was also decided to proceed with the erection of an outside stand and tea kiosk, and it is hoped that these will be in readiness for the Christmas meeting. A Sydney cablegram states that Flavinius was lame after running in the Chelmsford Stakes, and has : oeen scratched for the Epsom and Metropolitan Handicaps. The Telegraph states that he has probably finished his racing career.
