THE NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIPS. CLEMENTS IN FINE FORM. By Telegranh.—Press Association. j Wellington, Last Night. The New Zealand championship meet-1 ing was continued to-day. During the [ night a sharp thunderstorm was experi-1 enced. heavy rain falling. The links were saturated, and pools of water lay about. A slight wind in the early morning j turned into a gale, which lessened as the day wore on. The Christchnrcli crack, B. B. Wood, ■ continued to show good form, but, bad luck lost him tilie fourth round. Wright put up a fine round in the'morning. J. C. Burns (Auckland) showed improved form. Clements was in his best form, and won the open championship. He won the same event in Duncdin in 1908, and in Auckland in 1903. Wood came j second, and Butters third. The annual match for the Inter-club Challenge Vase, presented by Mr. E. D. o'Rorke (which is won By the best aggregate score of each team in the second qualifying round of the amateur championship) gave rise to a close finish, Christchurch defeating Auckland by a single point. Napier was third, and Wellington fourth.
