POTATOES FOR EXPORT.
AUSTRALIAN CONDITIONS. By Telegraph. —Press Association. Wellington, Saturday. The Commonwealth Minister of Customs has approved of the importation restrictions on potatoes being temporarily modified to a slight extent, so as to permit their admission for sale for food purposes. The following are the conditions under which potatoes may now be imported:—That potatoes are accompanied by an oll'icial certificate from the country of origin, identifying the shipment ami certifying that the potatoes have been inspected and show no signs of disease; that they are packed in the country of origin in clean new bags; that the bags, orates, or the packages arc! marked with the name of the country of origin; that upon inspection at the post of discharge in Australia the potatoes are found free from disease, and are so eertilied by the quarantine officer; that authority to import is obtained from the Minister.
