I MR. C. A. WILKINSON'S CAMPAIGN. [ The reports of Mr. C. A. Wilkinson's i campaign show that ho .has been accorded a splendid reception at every place visited,.which augurs well for bis sucat the .poll next Tuesday. He is receiving enthusiastic support as ; the nominee of the Reform Party, but apart from this fact will gain a 'big vote on personal grounds, being well and favorably known throughout the electorate by his policy of "a fair deal for everybody." The large committees that liave banded together to work for his return as a member are a fair indication' of Jiow he stands with the.electors. Tliere as-e many influential supporters on his committees who have never -previously taken an active part, in politics, and Mr. Wilkinsons success seems assured. , In his campaign work Mr. Willrin'son delivers a rousing and intelligent ;address' on the leading political topics, which never fails to win appreciation from Ins audiences. He generally criticises his opponent's views in a rigorous fashion, but on ijo occasion does be criticise his opponent; personalities have no place on his platform. Mr. Wilkinson is a pronounced freeholder on the land question, which he applies to the town equally -to the country districts. He endorses the policy put forth by the Reform Government, and also "advocates other legislation which i,i calculated to bo in the best interests of the people of this country. A. keen and vet cautious business man, also possessed of a sound knowledge of farmers' requirements, he would prove a decided acquisition to the ranks of any party. He has travelled extensively, having visited many parts of'the world, is a keen observer of political and business affairs, and the manner in which his business enterprises have advanced and .served the community goes to prove his capabilities. In addition to valwed services rendered to his district as member of the New Plymouth Harbor Board, Mr. Wilkinson has also taken an active part in school committee, municipal arfd other local affairs. For a number of years past the town of Eltham has been very progressive in every respect, and. Mr. Wilkinson's ability and energy have figured prominently in bringing this about. There is* every reason to believe that the residents of the town which he lias done .so much > to improve will render him their hearty support on the present occasion, and thus secure the services of a very capable representative.—(Advertisement.) On Friday the Reform candidate visited Meremere. and Ararata, where he | gave addresses on questions of interest to electors. Mr. Oearv presided at the | former .place, and Mr. T. Winks at Ararata. Hearty votes of thanks were given | for Mr. Wilkinson after he had answered j-qnestions.
