EMPIRE PICTURE PALACE. The wonderful Xordisk picture, "The Black Chancellor," again attracted a large audience at the Empire Theatre last evening. Powerful in story, with a cleverly chosen cast, "The Black Chancellor" ranks as the .highest of the Nprdisk productions. It is a strong story oJ court intrigue, containing many varied scenes and strong sensations, sensations that will thrill all those who are privileged to see the picture. The mounting is superb, the dresses and general equipment being extravagant, yet retaining full truth of detail. In short, it is ■» picture worth going a long way t? see, and lovers of a unique subject who lmve not yet viewed this picture should mak* a point of being present r.t the Empirt! this evening, when the picture will be on view for the last time. The management are making a special attraction of the. matinee each Saturday afternoon, and at to-morrow's afternoon performance two special pictures will be Known, "Robinson Crusoe and His Man Friday" and ''Blue Beard," a fairy story. Tlnse two pictures will only be shown at the matinee performance." FIRE BRIGADE BAZAAR. A bazaar under the auspices of the Fitzroy Fire Brigade was opened in the Fitzroy Hall yesterday afternoon. The interior of the hall is gaily decorated with bunting, and added brilliance is lent to the scene bv an array of colored electric lights arranged by Mr. W. TT. Griffiths. The stalls are arranged in splendid order, and the goods on sale are as numerous as they are, varied. The bazaar was well patronised last night, and numerous competitions, including hat-trimming, nail-driving and rifleshooting proved very diverting. The bazaar will be open again this afternoon and evening, and is worth visiting on ac- . count of the grand maypole dance alone. This is in charge of Mrs. Hawkins and ; Miss 0. Old.
