ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
SUDDEN DEATH.

Dunedin, Last Night Mrs. Lethers, a middle-aged woman, residing in Forth street, Roslyn, was at the Waikari polling booth to-day, and was driven home in a motor car'apparently quite well. Soon afterwards, jiowever, she suddenly expired,. She had not been attended by a doctor for a considerable time, and the cause of death is at present unknown.
A PECULIAR FATALITY. Christchurch, Last. Night. Lorine Orange, 15 years old, died at the Hospital to-day while undergoing an operation under an anaesthetic for the removal of adenoids and tonsils. After medical evidence the Coroner recorded a verdict that deceased had died as a result of an incompetent aoritic valve and germal lymphatic conditions. One medical witness stated that the circumstances were important to doctors, as lymphatic conditions of the heart were being investigated in England with a view to ascertaining the cause. So far only about sixty cases of death due to lymphatic conditions of the heart had been re l corded.
